It seems that in today’s world of Facebook updates and Twitter timelines and FourSquare check-ins, the line between our online lives and our ACTUAL lives has gotten blurred somewhere along the way. Or to put it more bluntly, it seems a lot of folks are spending WAY too much time bragging about how fabulous their life is instead of going out and actually making it fabulous. A recent situation I’ve had to watch some of my friends go through has taught me that some people seem to lie when the truth is better…and this baffles me. When you choose to build a house of lies, don’t be surprised when the Big Badass Wolf of TRUTH comes along and blows your house right down. If past relationships and friendships with less-than-honest people have taught me anything, it’s this: No matter how deep and dark the lie might be, the light of truth will find it eventually. And why waste your time lying about all the amazing things you’re doing instead of going out and actually DOING them?

Bottom line: Just be you. A less-than-perfect but REAL, honest, unscripted version of you always trumps a perfectly scripted lie.
