The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass: You Are LOVED

Quote of the Day:

“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning… Face it, friend. He is crazy about you!” ~Max Lucado

The Single Woman Says:

It’s easy as single women to have moments where it feels like no one loves us.

We have friends and families that love us, of course…but when everyone gets busy in their day-to-day lives with their respective spouses or significant others, life can feel a little like a game of Musical Chairs, where the music stops and everyone finds a seat except for you. I think as women, we tend to pour ourselves and our hearts and our emotions into everything that we do, and when there’s no one here physically pouring that same love and attention and affection back into us, it can leave a girl feeling pretty empty. I’ve been struggling with this a bit lately. Not so much longing for a relationship or to be married (even though I hope for those things eventually), but just missing the feeling of being LOVED. So the other night I said a prayer and asked God to rain down his love for me with a small gesture in the natural. Though I never doubt God’s love for me, it’s nice to have a tangible reminder.

Fast forward to yesterday morning, when I was heading into Starbucks and a timid-looking homeless man approached me and asked if I would buy him a coffee. As a bleeding heart personality who always wants to help out those less fortunate than myself, I quickly agreed. Once inside, I helped the sweet homeless man pick out his drink and purchased it for him, not thinking much about it…but the man in front of me saw what I was doing, so he, in turn, purchased MY frappucino and coffee cake! It was such a sweet, unexpected, heart-warming moment; and it wasn’t until I got back to the office that realized what had happened. I had asked for a physical gesture of God’s love for me just two nights ago, and He answered my prayer! It might not seem like a huge, earth-shattering event to anyone else, but I believe that’s where God tends to show Himself the most clearly…in the small, unassuming, humble moments. He is so good! I guess this little story is my way of telling you that if you ever doubted if you were loved…doubt no more. Even if you don’t believe in Him, God loves you and believes in YOU. And I love you and believe in you. Keep your head up, your faith strong, and your eyes open for the little miracles all around you…because they’re there. I promise. J
