The Single Woman’s Dash of Sass: The Power of Full Circle Moments

Quote of the Day:

No matter the deviation, all things come full circle. You begin and end your journey in the same place, but with a different set of eyes. ~Jennifer DeLucy

The Single Woman Says:

I often feel like the Queen of Full Circle Moments. In situations that almost defy explanation, I tend to frequently find myself back at a crossroads I’ve already crossed in my life, armed with time and grace and knowledge to make the right turn this time instead of the wrong one. Which then, of course, begs the question: Was the first turn WRONG when it taught me the lessons I needed to learn to make the RIGHT turn? I think all turns are right turns…because if they don’t TAKE us to the destination, they prepare us for it.

This week I was contacted by my Mr. Big’s sister, who is younger than him by a few years but basically looks like Mr. Big with longer hair. She has been struggling with a broken heart for the past few months and wanted my advice about how to let go and move on. I adore his family and would do absolutely in the world for any of them…so of course I did what I could to impart some wisdom and guidance to her. I even shipped some books to her that have been beneficial to me in times of heartbreak. And then yesterday it hit me. The lessons I gleaned from the one man who has the power to shatter my heart into a million pieces…gave me the knowledge I needed to help mend his sister’s broken heart.

What a beautiful full circle moment.

There are no regrets in life. None. Absolutely everything that happens to us has a spark of magic and beauty in it…even if we can’t see it right away. If the tears that have fallen from my eyes have given me the compassion and insight and understanding to stop a few tears from falling from Big’s sister’s eyes…or my precious reader’s eyes in the Philippines…or the young lady’s eyes who contacted me yesterday from Malawi…or the single girl struggling to find her way after a breakup in some part of the world where my toes have never touched…that is enough for me.

Whatever journey you’re on…I hope it involves a full circle moment.
