Im a single mother, the father left us when I am 3mos, for another girl. 2013 was the hardest, painful and worst year for me. Now its a new year, hoping that I can start fresh with my baby. I totally agree with this. Although its hard to do, but I think im getting there, eventually. Letting go, what ifs and moving on is very hard after so many hardships, but Im still thinking that maybe its for my own good. God has a plan, he wont leave me. 🙂

My 2014 mantra is Letting Go. Letting go of “could haves/should haves/if onlys”. To focus on whats going on in front of me. To look through the “windshield” of my life more than the rearview mirror. To look forward to the day that dull ache in my heart is gone. To let go of wondering what “he” is thinking or how “he” could have done this, but to focus on me and how to make my life better, brighter, happier the way I am right now. To trust in God, that He’s got this! Working for MY good! That I’m here because that is where I need to be. To keep my faith despite my circumstances or my “feelings”. To trust, that its going to work out the way He wants it too, and that is better than anything I could even imagine. 🙂

One of my devotions said rather than choose resolutions or goals for 2014, pick One Word. Pray about what your word will be because your entire year will revolve around this. I loved the challenge. I believe God wants my word to be PEACE. I plan on studying the word, the meaning, other cultures’ meaning and everything I do will be in an attempt to find peace in my life. I loved your 13 things to leave behind and with you on making 2014 the best yet!

U hit the nail on the head. I’m guilty of partaking in all those things. I’m 32yrs old and I will be better. Dealing with “stuff” can be extremely hard but I have a 3yr old daughter who looks up to me, so I have to let it go for her. She’s my future…..great advice! Much appreciated!!

  22. January 12, 2014

For me , 2013 was like discovering that someone has stolen my self-worth and my identity. God showed me that through relationships, failures, and mistakes. I had adapted a spirit of fear, doudt, and low self-worth.
In 2014 I will walk in my worth.
