Help Us Change the World, One Child at a Time

SassClassTagDear friends:

As you guys know, we are currently in the midst of “The Sass, Class & Compassion Tour”…and as a matter of fact, are currently driving through some very beautiful mountains somewhere in West Virginia!

Our first few live events have been wonderful and we cannot wait to see all God has in store for the rest of the tour.

Some of you might be wondering why we chose to call this “The Sass, Class & Compassion Tour”…well, Mandy is the creator of The Single Woman and as you know, can be a little bit sassy…and Jaime has a campaign for women called “Modest is Hottest” and loves to see women know who they are in Christ and stay classy.

The evening consists of worship, speaking, music, lots of fun, and something we are so excited to be able to share with you: our Compassion International partnership.

When planning this tour we really felt like we needed to have something in our program that allows woman to give back. It is so easy to live a self-centered life; whether that means focusing on climbing the corporate ladder, buying that bigger house, and so on…and we didn’t want this tour and this mission to be all about us. Both of us have witnessed through our own ministries and lives the miracles God can work when we are constantly seeking to be a blessing to others.

We’ve heard from polling and talking to our own fans, readers, and friends that one of the biggest issues singles struggle with is loneliness. And since both of us are still single, we also know firsthand what this feels like. Being single can often feel like you’re playing a game of musical chairs and the music stopped and left everyone with a chair except you. Especially as you get into your late 20’s and beyond. It’s easy to have moments where you feel as though you have all this love and no one to give it to.

So that’s what struck us as we were planning this journey across the country to speak to single ladies: What if we could connect two lonely hearts from opposite sides of the world to create a really beautiful, special, and life-changing partnership?

Compassion International is allowing us to do just that.

For $38 dollars a month (less than we spend on Starbucks each month!) you can sponsor a child, boy or girl (whichever you prefer) in any country you choose and literally make an impact on this child’s life forever. They will receive food, clothing, shelter, a great education and skills for a better life.

The part we really love is that you can also pray for your child, write letters, send care packages and begin a beautiful relationship that will bring both of you joy for many years to come!

For more information on sponsoring a child or to sign up to sponsor a child, please visit www.Compassion.com/SassClassCompassion.

Our goal with “The Sass, Class & Compassion Tour” is to step outside our own comfort zones as we encourage women across the country to do the same…trying new things, taking chances, and getting uncomfortable for the glory of God.

We hope you will take that leap of faith with us and help us change the life of a child TODAY!

Much love,

Jaime & Mandy

I’ve been a compassion sponsor for 3 years now, and I love it! it is very rewarding. I love getting letters from my sponsored child. I love being able to encourage her and tell her she’s loved. I always like to include little stickers or a book mark or something in my letters. I’ve sent extra money a few times for Christmas, her birthday, or just because I had a little extra money and god was tugging on my heart to send it to her (threw compassion international of course, not directly to her), and I got letters back from her telling me she used it to get new cloths/shoes for sunday school, a new mattress and blankets, a solar powered lamp for reading at night. her pics that I got when I first started sponsoring her showed her in shoes that were tattered and falling apart. I love hearing that she was able to get new shoes. it really is rewarding, unlike anything else I’ve experienced before.

I’ve been a sponsor for 3 years, but the lord has been tugging on my heart for some time now to sponsor a second child. seeing this today was the final push for me to go ahead and sponsor a second child. I’ve been sponsoring a little girl in Kenya. but the lord has been tugging me to sponsor a child in the Philippines. so I decided to sponsor the child waiting the longest from the Philippines. I just signed up to sponsor a little boy who has been waiting for 418 days for a sponsor. I cant wait to write to him 🙂

Compassion is a wonderful organization. One of my favorite groups 4HIM was very involved with them. Where I live the Watoto Children’s Choir stopped by and sang and they were asking for donations. They are orphaned children from Africa who live in villages. The children are wonderful. I am planning on making a donation or sponsoring a child there and I thank you Jaime and Mandy for the many lives you are reaching. Have a safe trip.
