Dash of Sass: Palms Up. Palms Open.

ClosingOneA reader reminded me of this quote from my book “I’ve Never Been to Vegas But My Luggage Has” over the weekend and I wanted to share it with you guys along with a revelation I received a couple of days ago. During my prayer time the other day, God reminded me that the posture for releasing something and the posture for receiving something else is identical: Palms up. Palms open. Not clenched tightly together from fear. Not clutching on to something that we are refusing to let go of. And not clasped behind our back in anger or bitterness. Palms up, palms open. Today I would encourage you to ask yourself if the things you are praying for and believing for might be delayed in arriving due to your refusal to SURRENDER other things. Things that might have once been good for you but long ago completed their purpose in your life. Things that you’re afraid to let go of for fear that you won’t get them back. Or even anger that you’re holding onto because you haven’t received the things you asked for in the time frame in which you think you should have. Here is what I know: 1) God will never deny you any GOOD thing and 2) You have to RELEASE in order to RECEIVE. How might simply changing your posture and your mindset today change your life? It’s a new week, almost a new season…heck, almost a whole new YEAR! Isn’t it time to peacefully release the past so you can prayerfully receive the future God has for you?

Very thoughtfully put. Very true that one has to let go of something which is not leading you higher or making u a better person., and also in order to receive what u deserve better. I personally experienced this.
Its time to renew the aims and ambitions and wishes too.

Palms up palms open I like this saying it is very symbolic 2 an infant child reaching up their father with open hands open arms and open heart we must be completely open for God to be able to completely for feel love he is the only one that can completely and utterly satisfied our every need yes letting go can be difficult but it is definitely something that we must do in order to make room for what is new in the next. Round that God has taken us to

This was and is very profound and TRUE down to the syllable. Keep encouraging me to have faith that what is for me it is for me, and I will now release those things that I want to hold on to so tightly.

I read this now and as i was reading the blog i was touched but its the comment section that has my tears rolling. Thank you for this. It’s amazingly simple to forget how to do this and also to do this. But it is indeed the most basic of our nature to reach out to God. I sometimes feel i reach out in every wrong way. But God is faithful and merciful. HE knows HIS creation.
